Have a look into this bedroom of a 1930s home

At Sentimo we have the luxury that we can often take a look into the most beautiful houses. We see how everyone applies there own style and get a lot of inspiration. Today we're taking a look at Martine's bedroom. She lives in her beautifullly renovated 1930s house in Arnhem. We asked her 5 questions about her interiors and the choices she made for her radiator covers.

What requirements do you have for the ideal bedroom?

If you ask me, a bedroom should be all peace and quiet. I tried to create this by using as many natural tones as possible. By working with the same colour tones, you make a space calm but at the same time not boring. You can always choose to use some accessories with some colour in it.

How would you describe your bedroom style?

This style is a combination of modern elements and designer items from different years. I like to play with different styles. This makes your interior unique and you also ensure that you can use many items for a very long time! Many trendsetting items never go out of style.

Can you tell us something about the use of colour and materials?

By using different materials and textures you create a dynamic space. Despite the fact that I only use natural and light colours, the whole thing still doesn't look boring. Textures make a room complete!

Which look did you choose for the radiator covers in your bedroom?

I chose to let the radiator covers blend in with the room. I chose the colour RAL 9010 and the Solid version. Because the curtains fall over the pipes and the knob, you can no longer see anything of the radiator itself. In our whole house the walls are painted in the colour RAL 9010, so it was easy for me to pick the colour. I ordered some colour swatches to compare some different colours, but RAL 9010 was the best match for me.

Do you think you are going to change some something about your bedroom in the future or do you think it is perfect now?

Actually I am very satisfied with my bedroom right now. I think the base will always remain the same, but I like to play with accessories around the house. Some accessories I change a lot are things like candles, plants, posters or framed photos. What I also did recently, is giving one of the lamps makeover by giving it a new lampshade! So don't throw things away too quickly: you can give them a second life with minimal effort!
